Mon 4th August, 2008. As a learning exercise, and a proof of concept - to show that we can use Drupal to drive websites with the required look and feel - I'm going to try to create a new (prototype) website for the Institute for Computing Research (ICR). Their website was created just before we settled on the BCIM house style, so it really needs re-working anyway. Here's a screenshot of the current ICR home page. Our ICT Dept is still working on providing a suitable (virtual) web server, so I'm going to create the prototype ICR website within my own personal web domain. I could do it locally on my Mac instead, using MAMP (I have tried this before and it works well), but it would be difficult to show to others if I did that. |
