Team Meeting
This morning we had our fifth team meeting to follow on from the meeting that we had on 9th March. We noted/discussed/agreed the following.
Other Notes...
(*) This was done on 9 Nov 2006!
Progress Reports:
- Martin...
- has made a lot of updates to our external website over the last few weeks, including new pages for Combined Honours courses within the BIT and Computing programmes, and courses within the Management programme.
- Imran (sent to me after the meeting by email for inclusion here)...
- I'm still currently working on the content management system project. The project seems to be going well, and the system produced so far seems to be working quite efficiently. The next stage involves working on the announcements part of the system. I will need to liase with Mike as this stage will require integrating Mike's emailer system with the content management system that I have produced.
- I have also been working on the alternate BCIM homepage. I have been through the prospectus' and checked that all the correct courses are listed on the homepage. I've also changed some of the images in order to brighten up the page.
- James (sent to me after the meeting by email for inclusion here)...
- National Bakery School; This is a work in progress. I am working on the final task of integrating multiple images into two specific page. Nearly completed.
- Link Checker; Continued to run regularly once a month. No major problems.
- Friends of the Faculty; Pages are live, but this will be a work in progress.
- Mike...
- has created an online room booking form to replace the paper form that was downloadable from the Faculty Resources Office web page (within the StaffWeb). This has been very well received. There are a variety of other, similar forms which also look suitable for converting into online forms; we've left it to Karen W. to ask us if and when she wants more of their forms converted.
Other Notes...
- Due to the Faculty's poor financial position we won't be getting another placement student next year after all.
- The issue of privacy has cropped up in relation to our room numbers being available on the internet. They show up within our Phonebook pages only when viewed from within the LSBU domain; they are surpressed when viewed externally. However, in our BCIM cv pages our room numbers show up externally as well as internally. Sally has suggested that they ought to be supressed for external viewing, as in Phonebook pages. (*)
