Imran (the placement student) will be joining us tomorrow; he will be working with us for a year. I've been wondering what to suggest that he starts off doing, and I think that the following might be appropriate...

• read the Style Guide for BCIM Web Pages to get an idea of what our "house style" involves,
   
• take a long, hard look at our StudentWeb; since Imran has been a student within BCIM for two years I think he is in a good position to evaluate the StudentWeb and to give us some feedback on it,
   
• consider maintaining a blog - like this one perhaps, or possibly something quite different - about the work he does during his placement year; I'll leave it up to him to decide whether or not he wants to spend the extra effort that's required to do it!

He'll also need to sort out his Staff ID Card, get his PC set up etc. As far as his first job is concerned, I think I know what that should be; I'll write a separate blog entry about that very soon!
