Fourth Draft - incorporating feedback from Sally
Sally gave me some good feedback after seeing the 3rd draft. In particular, she pointed out that:
- Including too many meta data keywords is counter-productive as far as some search engines are concerned; they may ignore them altogether, especially if keywords are repeated. (I've just re-used the keywords that are in our current home page, so she has highlighted an existing problem.) In fact, according to this article, keywords hardly seem worth bothering with at all. Similarly, it hardly seems worth including meta description tags - and we don't have them at the moment.
- The home page should be dated. True!
- For TEXT ONLY the alt text for the LSBU logo should read either "" or "London South Bank University", rather than "LSBU logo".
- Underlining of hyperlinks is apparently now frowned upon from an accessibility point of view, so I have altered the stylesheet accordingly.
With these points in mind I've now put together these (Fourth Draft) mock-ups of the Home Page and sample sub-page to show the altered hyperlink and breadcrumbs styles.
